FAQs

  • We are really excited about our three night festivals -- one in Bakersville (Thursday, October 27), one in Buladean (Friday, October 28) and one in Spruce Pine (Saturday, October 29). Each of these will be different in some really fun ways (and we aren't going to tell you about ALL the surprises here). But, in general, these are a bit like the old-timey Fall Festivals you might remember from childhood... think pie baking contests, apple cider tastings, costume contests and old-fashioned family fun. However these wouldn't be Hilloween events without some unique elements celebrating the history and mystery of Mitchell County. There will be ghost stories, axe-throwing, and explorations of our county's very own almost 200 year-old unsolved murder mystery. While the feel will be spooktacular, all of our Night Festival events are family friendly and fun for children of all ages. Except the axe-throwing. That one is just for grown-ups.

  • Unless otherwise noted, all Hilloween events are free. One exception is the Haunted Pub Crawl in Spruce Pine, which is limited to adults 21 and over and costs $10 per person plus the cost of drinks (more info here)

  • While we would love for you to join us for all the events, you are welcome to pick and choose the events that you and your loved ones are most interested in.
