HILLOWEEN AND THE MITCHELL COUNTY DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (MCDF)

Since January 2025, the Mitchell County Development Foundation has already distributed more than $1,200,000 in grant funding to businesses across Mitchell County affected by the storm. But there is still much work to be done.

Hilloween has a long partnership with the Mitchell County Development Foundation and has been working closely with the Foundation since December 2024. To date, Hilloween has worked with the MCDF to launch an updated and expanded MCDF website, support MCDF grant writing and fundraising initiatives, and assist with a range of strategic planning and communications initiatives to support the work of the foundation.

For these and other reasons, Hilloween has named the Mitchell County Development Foundation as it signature charitable partner for 2025. This will include a range of partnership elements, including:

  • Hilloween’s 2025 Benefit Concert. Hilloween is teaming up with Old Crow Medicine Show and Bandana Rhythm to host our Hilloween 2025 Benefit Concert on Saturday, October 25 in Spruce Pine. 100% of received funds will be donated directly to the MCDF; these funds will be donated directly to the MCDF and will never even land in a Hilloween account. Hilloween is proud to cover all costs for this event, with no financial obligation for the MCDF, Mitchell County, or the City of Spruce Pine.

  • Additional Fundraising Efforts: In addition to donating all funds received from benefit concert ticket sales, Hilloween will also host a number of other ways for individuals to donate directly to the MCDF. This will include donation opportunities in conjunction with benefit concert ticket purchases, in person donation opportunities at all Hilloween 2025 events, and additional donation opportunities with Hilloween’s 2025 media partners.   • Encouraging Others To Get Involved. Mountain people have a long history of coming together in times of crisis, and a big part of this is spreading the word. As we gear up for Hilloween 2025 we encourage you to follow the Mitchell County Development Foundation on facebook to learn more about their work and to support this important effort in any way you can.
