On September 27, 2024 Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina; completely isolating our mountain community from the outside world for three days. One of the hardest communities hit by the storm, Helene’s damage to Mitchell County has been documented by NPR, 60 Minutes, Forbes, WLOS, Fox News and many other outlets.

But there is good news. Mountaineers have always rallied to help their friends and neighbors; never more than during a crisis. This spirit—combined with the kindness of friends and strangers from afar—means that our community has come a long way in a very short period of time after the storm. The Mitchell County Development Foundation (MCDF), for example, has already granted more than $1.2 million to business across Mitchell County affected by the storm.

In support of these efforts, Hilloween will donated 100% of received funds from our 2025 Benefit Concert ticket sales to MCDF and will be collecting additional donations to MCDF at all of our events.

If this is your first time joining us, Hilloween is a multi-day festival in Mitchell County, NC that celebrates Blue Ridge Mountain culture, supports young people across the region, and creates fun Halloween events for our friends and neighbors (even if you’re “from off”).
